The Firm

Design Philosophy

At Michelle Gentile Interiors, we believe that beautiful environments soothe the soul and help people grow together. We honor that philosophy in every space we design, striking the perfect balance of comfort and function.

Whenever possible, our projects showcase our clients’ favorite memories, conversation pieces, or special collections because rooms with meaningful objects uplift and inspire the people within them. We’ve used custom design to make a positive impact on many lives, and we’d love to do the same for you.

Michelle Gentile

Design Principal + Founder

Michelle Gentile’s love for interior design began at an early age. One of her earliest and most cherished memories was coming home from kindergarten to a beautifully transformed bedroom. Her mother had surprised her and her sister with coordinated bedding adorned with delicate pink rosebuds, sparking Michelle’s lifelong passion for creating beautiful spaces that evoke emotion and joy.

With a natural ability to “see things how they should be,” Michelle spent her formative years rearranging rooms, helping with home renovation projects, and pursuing hands-on design experience. She studied interior design at a respected college in DuPage County, Illinois, and quickly began working in residential interiors, gaining expertise in showroom design, client relations, and project management.

In 2000, Michelle expanded her career to Boston, Massachusetts, where she joined one of the city’s top commercial design firms. She worked on large-scale corporate, retail, and hospitality interiors, including high-profile design work for Crate & Barrel and Van Millwork. By 2004, she launched her own design firm, serving residential clients and real estate developers throughout the Boston area. Her design aesthetic blends timeless elegance with functionality, often incorporating Feng Shui principles and her knowledge of design history to curate harmonious interiors.

In addition to her professional work, Michelle led impactful charitable design efforts, including a large-scale installation for The Room to Dream Foundation. This experience inspired her return to the Midwest to start her family. Today, Michelle lives in Downers Grove, Illinois with her husband Tony, their three sons—Mason, Mike, and Andrew—and their daughter Morgan Ella.

In 2019, Michelle and Tony transformed a historic building at 1015 Maple Avenue into Maple Home Market, a retail boutique and design showroom. The business is now evolving into Michelle Gentile Interiors + HOME, a full-service interior design studio specializing in personalized residential interiors, boutique commercial spaces, and styling services.

Michelle is deeply connected to her community. She has served as a board member of the Downers Grove Junior Woman’s League, a Girl Scout troop leader, and a graduate of the Business Owner to CEO course through Innovation DuPage.

Whether you’re seeking complete home design, renovation consulting, or seasonal styling, Michelle Gentile Interiors + HOME brings vision, experience, and heart to every project
